To always beat your competitor, you need to have 2 video games and 2 gameboys. Initially, you choose any starter in one video game(Charmander), then the one your competitor choices will be its weak point(Squirtle). On your otyher game, select the final one(Bulbasaur). This is where the other gameboy is available in. You need to go capture another pokemon, then trade it with your other video game. You will then have two pokemon(Charmander and Bulbasaur). Train them and when you satisfy your rival, use the one you got in the trade(Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, or Venusaur).

Lastly, those of you who want to use the Pokemon cards for the real Download Pokemon Sword and Shield Roms itself, I have very little advice. Due to new rule modifications in the Pokemon video game, its getting harder and more difficult to be able to utilize Japanese Pokemon cards in competitions. My guidance to you is to wait. The way it looks now is that Japanese cards will be banned entirely from competition play sometime in the next couple years. Naturally they are still excellent to collect, as they are much nicer than the US ones, however if you are looking to utilize them in competitions, its not a great investment.



Take your time in video games: The easiest thing to do when you are new to a game, however understand the rules well, is to rush. Think through what you are doing. The majority of opponents you play will be understanding of you taking your time.
